Clark County firefighters battle apartment complex blaze

The Clark County Fire Department is battling a blaze astatine an flat analyzable successful northeast Las Vegas.

Assistant Fire Chief Dan Heenan said the section received a study astir 5:25 p.m. of a second-story flat occurrence astatine 2949 Sandy Lane. When crews arrived, they said a two-story, multi-family gathering was connected occurrence with dense fume and flames coming from the 2nd floor.

The building’s occupants were evacuated arsenic crews attacked the occurrence from the inside. The blaze extended into the attic, and much crews attacked from the road.

“Due to the size of the fire, coupled with the Las Vegas heat, a 2nd alarm was requested,” Heenan said, referring to a telephone for much resources astatine the site.

The affected apartments were cleared by 5:46 p.m. and the attic flames were retired by 6:12 p.m., helium said. Heenan described it arsenic an ongoing situation.

The origin of the occurrence has not been determined. A harm estimation was not instantly available.
