A 21-year seasoned of the Metropolitan Police Department died this week from COVID-19, according to the Las Vegas Police Protective Association.
Phil Closi, a patrol officer, died connected Thursday owed to “complications from Covid,” according to a Facebook station from the union. He worked retired of the Convention Center Area Command and was a national country representative.
“Phil volition beryllium greatly missed by his household and friends,” the connection said.
He is survived by his wife, lad and daughter, according to the union.
Closi is the 5th known Metro worker to dice of the coronavirus. Lt. Erik Lloyd, 53, died connected July 29, 2020, followed by the deaths of 70-year-old retired detective Michael Karstedt, connected Jan. 30, 70-year-old civilian worker John Melwak, connected Oct. 23, and serviceman Jason Swanger, 41, connected June 24.
