Indian tricolor flag hoisted in Pakistan stadium draws criticism

The Indian tricolor has finally been hoisted at the Karachi National Stadium. According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules, when a mega tournament is being held, the national flags of all the participating teams have to be displayed at the host stadium. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) initially did not follow this rule, especially not displaying the Indian flag, which led to severe criticism. While the flags of all the countries were visible at the Gaddafi Stadium, the Indian tricolor flag was not visible. Did Pakistan take this decision to be a neighbor country? Or did it accidentally forget? Doubts were widely discussed on social media platforms. Indian fans, former cricketers, and several politicians also protested against this. Pakistan finally relented after criticisms that Pakistan was acting in a conspiratorial manner and was linking politics to cricket. With this, the Indian flag was installed at the stadium yesterday. It is learnt that Pakistan came down on the orders of the ICC and put an end to this controversy. A PCB official said that the ICC had instructed that only four flags should be flown on the days of the matches. He said that one of the four flags is the ICC, the second is the PCB, and the remaining two are the countries of the teams competing on that day. Meanwhile, the Indian flag has been given a place in the host countryBCCI Vice President Rajiv ShuklaHe expressed his happiness. He stated that the flags of all the participating countries in the trophy should be there. 

The Champions Trophy 2025 is here. This prestigious tournament, which is eagerly awaited by world cricket fans, will be held in Pakistan. A total of eight countries are participating in this mega tournament. India, Pakistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh will compete for the title. The matches will be held from today to March 9 in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi stadiums in Pakistan.

Champions Trophy begins

The Champions Trophy will start from today. In the first match, defending champions Pakistan and New Zealand will face each other at the Karachi National Stadium. The match will start at 2.30 pm . All the fans are eagerly waiting for this match.
